Here you could make a statement declaring the purpose of your site and your goals for meeting the needs of the Colorado Equine Industry for buying and selling. You would need to explain the membership concept and talk about the benefits and other obvious reasons for becoming a member. It needs to be your statement or the statement of those you partner with if that is the direction you decide to go. You were able to acquire over 15,000 members with the FB page and I'm sure you would be able to use those marketing skills to succeed by keeping your members and prospects informed of new developments monthly, weekly or even daily if time permits.

Below your statement you may want to do a lineup of featured unsold horses. People will pay more to have top premium ads like the demo below. The ad could link to the Sale Blog page for dialog.

I can do the basic layout for you (8 pages), as indicated by your menu at the top, and tutor you along by e-mail or by phone if you have any questions to help you get started. Karen and I could help you with tweaking the site on everything but the Sale Blog page. With your experience on Facebook you may be able to manage the Sale Blog page easier than you think. In the short term I can communicate with the person who creates the blog page but it would be up to you and them to go from there. If you find yourself struggling with the development of the Blog page I have a contact in Salida who can put that together. As far as collecting membership and advertising fees you will need a special page to process payment and reciprocate with receipts. All your other pages shown on the header menu except the Sale Blog will reflect the same layout structure.

The domain COhorsesforsale.com is not being used. Registering that domain would be a good place to start. The other names, numbers addresses etc, are hypothetical and can be easily changed to show your actual information. The 8 page links under the header and the membership activation link have not been activated since there are no pages built yet to activate. Now that the Home page is more or less framed the other pages will come together quickly. The Sale Blog page however, is an exception and will be quite different. That is the page where you will have the Facebook dialog characteristics and will need to be built by someone familiar with Wordpress. It would be similar in layout to this site equinenow.com.

The overall complexion here is old school by design. It sets you apart from the other web sites and gives you more of a hands on local look designed to make members and prospective members feel like they are dealing with friends
not corporations with no face.
